Photography
Business
Photography
is the process of capturing still or moving images onto
film. The first photograph was taken by a French inventor
called Nicephore Niepce in 1825. The first mass marketed
easy to use camera was the Kodak no1 box produced in
1888.
Photography is both a pastime for millions of people
and a professional industry. Photographers take pictures
for newspapers and magazine in the media. The most famous
or infamous of these are the paparazzi that devote their
time to taking pictures of movie stars and celebrities.
Professional photographers also cover weddings and do
photo shoots for advertising and the fashion industry.
Recent years have seen new developments in the photography
business. Digital cameras have mostly replaced the older
film based cameras. These days’ digital cameras
are preferred for their ease of use, compact size and
reduced costs of developing pictures. Along with digital
cameras came digital printers to print the pictures
taken. Digital printers can be used in the home and
can print pictures at a fraction of the cost of the
older film based technology. Nowadays most mobile phones
also incorporate a camera function meaning that most
people in the world now have a camera in their pocket.
With developments in technology the photography business
is getting stronger. New technology has created a demand
for new products. The advent of the digital age has
ensured a healthy market for photography goods and services.
